Created by Paul Norris, AQUAMAN first appeared in MORE FUN COMICS # 73, November, 1941.  The Silver Age Aquaman debuted as a back-up feature in ADVENTURE COMICS # 260, May, 1959.   His first "solo" appearance (with Aqualad) was in SHOWCASE # 30, January-February, 1961.  The artists were Ramona Fradon and Nick Cardy.

After his successful appearances in SHOWCASE, AQUAMAN began with the January-February, 1962 issue.  While the stories were nothing more than what was average DC fare, the book quickly became known as a showcase for the incredible art of Nick Cardy.
