Unlike
Marvel in the sixties, which was rather quite small compared to DC, National
Periodical Publications had a very diverse line, including licensed properties.
Following hot on the heels of CAPTAIN ACTION, DC Comics released another
comic based on a popular toy, HOT WHEELS. The series debuted with
the March-April, 1970 issue and ran for six bi-monthly issues. As
DC was known for, HOT WHEELS had great art, featuring the legendary Alex
Toth, rising superstar Neal Adams, and Dick Giordano. |
