The
Golden Age |
|
Millie the Model
debuted during World War Two, the product of Marvel/Timely Comics, publishers
of the Human Torch, Sub-Mariner, and Captain America.
Early issues of Millie
were drawn by Mike Sekowsky, a man who later became the original artist
for National Periodical Publications' Justice League of America.
Strangely enough, it was the success of the Justice League, a "Silver Age"
title which brought together all of Nationals' (later known as DC Comics)
top super-hero characters, that inspired the creation of the Fantastic
Four, the first Marvel Comic of the Silver Age, and the book that revitalized
the company. |
